Technically, I don’t know if you can call Connor “my first makeup client,” since no monetary compensation occurred for my beauty services, HA HA HA!

We did each other’s makeup yesterday, and to absolutely nobody’s surprise, I did a wearable soft and smokey look on Connor. Adding to that, can I just say how much easier it is to do makeup on eyes that 1) aren’t heavily lidded and 2) aren’t my own? Blending eyeshadow is like night and day!

For her eyeshadow, I used the Honest Beauty Get It Together Eyeshadow Palette, which is still my current go-to favorite eye palette. I didn’t think I could love it even more than I already do, but after seeing it on her skin, I’m convinced that this is a palette everyone can wear.

Oh, and tangent — my friend recently told me that she was shopping on the Honest Beauty website when she saw someone familiar…

Does this mean that Jessica Alba and I are connected in “a six degrees of Kevin Bacon” sense? I wonder!

Anyway, back to the makeup. I told Coywolf that she had free artistic reign to do whatever she wanted, and so that’s how I ended up with this runway-ready look with ALL THE GLITTER.

Ready, set go!

The stick she’s holding in the pic is the new Pixi Beauty On-the-Glow Blush stick, by the way, and you can wear it on cheeks and lips.

Early on in the process. I feel like this could be a look you’d see in Allure!

While she was piling product on my face, I mentioned that makeup artists often use their fingers to paint on their model’s faces, and she took this info and ran with it…

Here are our final looks! Let me know which one you would wear. ?

OMG, she is beautiful. She’ll be a heartbreaker. You both are adorable!

I’m so bummed. It seems I lost my LM Ala Rose lipstick somewhere between getting my first professional manicure in over a year and food shopping. I’ll just have to replace it.
    Be well!

Oh, I’m sorry to hear about your lipstick! As someone who loses EVERYTHING my advice is to not look for it. That’s usually when I find thing, haha!

What color did you choose for your nails?

OMG! Connor’s expression in that first photo! But the second, third and fourth photos! Wow. Be prepared for lots of teenage boys hanging around in about 9 to 10 years!
I used to love doing Dear Daughter’s makeup at Halloween time and then helping her for school photos when I finally relented and said she could wear makeup for the occasion.
    Enjoy the journey!

I’m not ready for that! I dream that she’ll be so focused on school, dance or horses (I keep thinking it’s a phase, but I get asked about lessons ALL THE TIME) that she’ll have no time for silly boys. A mom can dream?!

How was your hubby’s birthday celebration? Did you end up getting some yummy ice cream?

Well you’ve quite a few years before she’s a teenager, so enjoy these years.
Whether it’s horses or ballet or drama or swimming, lacrosse or some other sport it’s good for kids to have an interest that keeps them occupied. As for the horse phase… Dear Daughter was in college when Dear Husband said, “I let her do it because I thought it was a phase and she’d get over it and quit.” Lol.
Yes, thank you. The birthday celebration was good. And your suggestion to get ice cream was perfect. We went out for gelato.

Honest Beauty needs to send you a commission! 🙂 That’s awesome!

OMG, Connor’s having NONE of it in that first pic. HAHA! I love how we have different makeup taste at different ages. 😉 And, imagine having poreless skin like that again. Gah. If only!

I mean, I wouldn’t mind if Jessica Alba kicked some $$ my way, LOL!

I can’t believe I ever had skin like hers, it blows my mind!

Super cool that you are on the Honest Beauty website. I bought the palette at Target because of you.

I wouldn’t wear purple glitter all over my face like a foundation, but I do like and would wear the dark pink eyeshadow and glossy purple lip that Connor did on you!
